
Julia is internationally recognized as a bestselling author, as well as a parenting and teaching expert.
Julia has presented in thousands of schools and regularly speaks at national education and counseling conferences. She has published more than 100 books for children with a wide range of characters who teach great people skills (GPS). Her books showcase her ability to enter the worldview of children, and the goal of her work is to actively involve young people in fun, memorable stories and teach them to become lifelong problem solvers.
Inspiration for her books comes from working with children and listening carefully to counselors, parents, and teachers, in order to stay on top of needs in the classroom and at home.
Her books have been referenced in such publications as Parent’s Magazine, The New Yorker, Green Child Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Chicago Tribune, Yahoo.com, DrLaura.com and BabyZone.com. Julia has been featured on CNN’s HLN News and many local news shows in major metropolitan markets. She has also consulted with Apple and hundreds of urban school districts.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Julia first began teaching as a ski instructor, an experience that led to a love of teaching in general. After beginning her teaching career as a middle school math teacher, she went on to earn her Master’s degree in School Counseling.
Julia currently resides in northern Utah, and enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and puppies.
